Bid Manager, Aerospace

Our Hawker Chase Consultant worked really hard at finding the right person for us, following an exact set of requirements. She was very personable and spent time researching and qualifying candidates, and then giving me a full brief on each one. Great service!

A World Leader in Air Traffic Management

Opportunity

An opportunity for a seasoned Bid Manager to act as a deputy to the Senior Bid Manager, to bridge the experience level within the team and to engage with complex bids.

Situation

Despite an extensive internal & external recruitment drive for almost 12 months, combining advertising and agency instruction and multiple interviews, the client had not succeeded in filling a critical role in its team resulting in a specialist instruction to Hawker Chase Executive to use its Technical Search approach.

The client had placed a heavy emphasis on the personality and cultural fit of the individual they were looking to hire – this included being open and honest, enjoying ‘banter’ and a positive approach to problems. Other key attributes required:

  • Shipley knowledge
  • Commercial approach
  • Mentoring experience
  • Team management know-how

Solution

Hawker Chase Executive quickly produced a target list of approximately 230 candidates compiled from an agreed list of likely companies containing the required behaviours and similar cultural outlook.

Following sustained and proactive confidential approaches a total of 14 candidates were presented to the client at progressive shortlist meetings allowing each candidate to be considered in detail given the emphasis on cultural & technical fit.

Our consultant worked collaboratively with the hiring manager throughout the interviewing, offer and appointment process, carefully fine tuning the list of candidates as the client moved through the interviewing process.

As a result a superior candidate was surfaced and successfully offered in perfect timing for a career transition.

The calibre of candidate meant that time frame between the offer and onboarding process was fast tracked and cut down from four weeks to three.
